Stephen is committed to the development of a just and caring society both in his professional career as a musician, as CEO of two Conservatoriums, and through volunteer community service, as is evidenced by his work in Rotary. He was Assistant Governor, District 9790, Group 10 for three years, and is a member of the Rotary Club of Albury Hume.

He has served in 2 clubs since 2010, is Past President of his club and is a former member of the Rotary Club of Albury North. In 2020, he wrote the music for, and recorded All Shoulders to the Wheel to help Rotary celebrate its Centenary in Australia.

Stephen’s work was recognised in the Australia Day Honours List of 2017 when he was awarded a Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM) for services to the performing arts.
