Richard Woodburn Operations Director
Richard Woodburn has stepped into the role of Operations Director following the resignation of the previous encumbent, pending the appointment of a successor.
Richard has a long history with ROMAC, starting when he fulfilled the role of Secretary back in 2004. Since then he has performed the roles of Operations Director, Deputy ROMAC Chair and the Eastern Region Chair. More recently he has been working as IT Support, primarily in regards to the Medical Database (eHR) which allows ROMAC to manage all patient referrals and treatments. Apart from these management roles, he has supported about 40 children treated by ROMAC in Sydney, primarily at the Sydney Children’s Hospital at Randwick.
A former Rotaractor, Richard has been a Rotarian since 1978 when he joined the Bomaderry Rotary Club. He has since been a member of five Rotary Clubs as he moved around NSW in his work as a Civil Engineer involved in road and bridge construction and maintenance projects. He was an Assistant District Governor in Districts 9700 and 9765 and a Past President of Parkes and Randwick Rotary Clubs. He is currently a member of the Rotary Club of Botany Randwick in Sydney.
He is also a retired Lieutenant Colonel having, amongst other senior roles, commanded the 21st Construction Regiment of the Royal Australian Engineers.
Richard is married and actively supported by Julie, and they have 4 adult children and four Grandchildren.
